SERIAL BISD TELENOVELA GOES ON; CASTRO "CENSURE," LEAKS

1. Discussion, consideration and possible action on the censure of Board Member, Erasmo Castro.
Executive Session
a. Discussion, consideration, and possible action and update on administration's and Board Member's receipt and dissemination of confidential information.

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

The telenovela, some say situation comedy, continues today at the specially-called meeting of the Brownsville Independent School District to be held today at the district's main offices at 5:30 p.m.

The censure of Castro - an exercise in futility without legal complications - is only the second attempt in recent BISD history, with the attempt 2014 attempt to "censure," or "censor" former trustees Caty Presas-Garcia and Lucy Longoria and preventing them from speaking during meetings.

The duo accused the then-board president and the majority of the board for entering a "quid pro quo" with vendors and that they were retaliated against by attempting to muzzle them in violation of their First Amendment rights. It resulted in a federal lawsuit asking for $2 million in damages. It was eventually non-suited in that court.

In Castro's case, the current board majority voted to consider the  censure of Castro after a series of incidents that included him being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and for visiting campuses without prior permission or oversight from the administration which resulted in a complaint by a parent over Castro's posting of a photo of a student without the parent's consent.

The board - after incident - passed new local rules prohibiting these acts. The censure of the trustee over the new rules comes retroactively after their passage.

Ironically, board counsel Baltazar Salazar - who unsuccessfully attempted to expunge three of his own felony case convictions in court - is the same attorney advising the board on the censure just as he did against Presas-Garcia and Longoria. Back then, Salazar went as far as submitting an agenda item to hire outside counsel  o remove them from the board. The board wisely tabled the item.

In the Castro case, he is facing a removal action in district court filed by a group of local residents. A group from San Benito also filed for a district court's removal of San Benito CISD Michael Vargas or his arrest on a DWI charge.

The other agenda item deal with the receipt of unspecified confidential information by a board member (unknown) and the BISD administration and its dissemination. Details on the nature of the information are unknown.

La cagas, Juan. La cagas. Tanto relajo con esto, bro. Put your head on it and write what it is and what it isn't. Covering this story by installment doesn't do it. La cagas.

An amputee fool cannot undo Castro's election. Erasmo got more than 11,000 votes, way more than the signatures this punk gathered, many of them FAKE!

Erasmo Castro tried to be a positive figure for students and the other trustees made it something dirty. Yes, he should not have been drinking, but you have to weigh the totality. Do we write-off Sylvia Atkinson cause she's fat and eats too much or Minerva Pena & Prisci Tipton for their Arab noses? No.

Erasmo behaves in a manner that many perceive to be like a child sex predator. He should have more sense, but has been getting away with it in your faces so long that y'all are to blame for the precarious position you're placing these young boys in. Also, nice job reinforcing racist stereotypes. Super validates your commentary.

No no no stop right there at 10:17 am. SanBenito has the honors of being called Clown Town. It’s being run by los payasos lead by el payasito de austin.

Censure is like when your Mom told you she was spanking you because she loved you. Buenos los fajasos que no daban for something minor but we learned. that is what Erasmo needs - unos fajasos so that he learns to act like a productive adult and do what is expected from him by those idiots who voted for him. After running for everything except dog-catcher, he finally gets in and instead of proving himself, he makes a fool out of himself and BISD. The teachers, kids and some administrators work so hard to get to where we are, only to have the board of directors mess it up. Join in at 5:30 for a continuation of the clown show. And the new supt just sits there and agrees with Dr.A and even allows her to remove agenda items. No tiene pantalones!

This is news Montoya? BISD has and will always be corrupted just like Cameron County with its nepotism and dirty politics! BISD definitely long over due on being investigated by the Feds, Montoya! BISD loves to smear good people based on politics!
Look at that teacher who was accused of stealing fundraiser money but the charges outright dismissed due to some common sense in Luis' office that the trumped up charges were political!

If stupid is a race of people, they are really making their presence felt here.

Racism is more than just words, beliefs and actions. It includes all the barriers that prevent people from enjoying dignity and equality
