Will Charro Days be renamed the Breeden-Samano (or Samano-Breeden) Days in honor of the three generations of these families' scions?
That's what appeared might happen when the idea behind a 2020 Dan Breeden Charro Days poster was discussed among members. Apparently, someone had suggested that he depict three generations of his family and three generations of the Samanos, attired in traditional charro garb in the poster, of course, in recognition of their roles in promoting the annual celebration.
Apparently, the idea didn't go down well with some of them because they remembered how city commissioners who were just snake-bitten and had just weathered the criticism heaped upon them after a majority - Rose Gowen John Cowen, Jessica Tetreau and Joel Munguia - opted to ignore the people of El Fronton Street residents and kept the changed McNair Family Drive.
Some members of the Charro Days board questioned the depiction of the two families on procedural grounds since Chickie Samano is a lifetime honorary member and the rules preclude her from being pictured on any publicity surrounding the event. Hell, they even have lifetime honorary members who are dead.
And other living members of the staff and board, when reached by this blog, preferred not to comment on the matter.
Others went along with it and when details of the people in the poster got around they shied away from it like it was the McNair controversy warmed over. The Charro Day board got the message and regrouped. They opted for the "alternate" poster concept. It was only after the concept had been shot down by the board that Samano got the bad news.
We understand she did not take it well and had to be provided with medical attention to soothe her agitated state. Ware trying to flesh out the sordid details of SamanoBreedenGate and will keep you posted on the poster brouhaha.

Wtf! Not shure what these pendejos are drinking at their meetings.
Juan, put pressure on El Panson barton to post pro-Sofie Benavides comments submitted to his blog. He disrespects her, only attacks with lies and uneducated commentary!
Name it what it is: Borracho Days!
Charro Days is too boring as it is. Needs new activities, maybe a performance by Enrique Iglesias! Ha aha ahahhhh ha haha
El Panson Barton's blog is racist. He disrespected Sofie Benavides and laughed about it. Booooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Samano is now controlling Mr.Amigo, Her daughter Celia Galindo (owner of Gourmet Central) is a Board Member. And against Mr.Amigo rules and polices, Where no active member can do business with the association. she is in charge of catering all Mr. Amigo events.
Nice everything stays in the family.
Juan for many many years since 1938 i think is when this all started, only a few token families have benefit nicely from nicely from this Charro days fiesta courtesy of the city of Brownsville taxpayers footing the bill for many things, police protection, traffic control use of city land and the list goes on and on, oh almost forgot also Sombero fest is another one that uses city property and personnel for a profit, auh will donate a bench here and there etc. Maybe a good new name might be "Mamones Days" Adios y abriba con los pendejos.
How about bringing in Molly Hatchet.
Panson Duardo continues to race-bait Juan's blog with fake pro-Sofia comments.
Citizens of Brownsville, lets demand that the next municipal elections candidates who owned "Historical Designation " personal homes be barred from running for public office. Public officials should and must set the example for the citizens and pay their fair share of property taxes. I'm fed up of seeing "Historical designation" crab on so many personal homes. Leaders lead by example and apparently here in Brownsville, Leadeship is non-existent.

DUMB, TOO STUPID. EDDIE LUCIO III
January 30th 2017, HB 173, Sponsored by State Rep. Eddie Lucio (D-Harlingen)
State Rep. Eddie Lucio’s (D-Harlingen) “BAD BILL” would create licenses for harvesting rainwater in the state. Under this legislation, anyone who wants to have a device on their property that collects rainwater in any way, must make sure that the person installing said device is licensed to do so.
The bill was referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources, and has been there since February 14 without a hearing.
Chickie's grito can not compare to Daddy Hargrove's grito. Chickie screams like a pig having his you know whats cut off. That is not a grito; it is an uncontrollable scream like someone is pinching her front pimples.
And what is so special about Galindo's food; the price? It is always the same dried up chicken with Campbell's soup on top and broccoli and cauliflower. Get some enchiladas in there and some good tasting tacos to celebrate el dia de los charros mejicanos.
There is no such thing a gringo grito bola de pendejos

E3 must have buddy that has or wants to start a Licensing business for rainwater collection.
As long as rain water has not been in a creek or river it is owned by the land owner, not the state.
