COLLEGE BOARD NAMES LOS FRESNOS DISTRICT OF THE YEAR

The College Board, a nationally acclaimed non-profit,  has recognized the three best districts that prepare students for a college education.

This year our neighbor to the north - Los Fresnos CISD - took the top prize in the medium size division. College Board officials say the winners were chosen for expanding participation in advance placement courses and far exceeded the national passing rate of 59 percent with a score of 71 percent.

Los Fresnos CISD is one of four Texas districts to earn this honor in the past decade.

In 2019, more than 400 Los Fresnos students took Advanced Placement (AP) exams across 18 different subject areas.

You are both wrong, if you want you can look up the passing rates on any districts website.

This award is not anything like that Broad Award for Urban Education or the Best City in the Nation or the All American City.

This really one of the true tests as to whether or not a high school student is College Ready.

Passing the Advanced Placement Exam is no easy task, it nothing like the Standardized testing that our schools put so much emphasis on now that measures the bare minimum that a student need to learn to move on to the next grade level.

I'm not much of a fan of LFCISD, and to tell you the truth it is basically Astonishing that they have done this well and the entire district has much to be proud of.

Advanced Placement Class Exams are difficult, 71% is really good.

Congratulations to LFCISD,

TEA and all these other self serving so call educational organizations are just blood sucking clubs. If they are legit why are they requiring schools to pay to JOIN? And school are ready and willing since its not coming out of their pockets. Is it to continue to stay at their job, pay raise, look in the community? Its all a con job nothing else...
