(Sheriff Omar Lucio and jail screws make sure inmates don't bolt from hotbox isolation tent.)
Special to El Rrun-Rrun
The Cameron County Sheriff's Dept. has reported no inmates have tested positive for COVID-19 in the county's detention facilities.
“We’ve been lucky. Everything is going well, and I hope we can keep it that way,” said Lucio in a phone call.
Stunningly, this was followed by other breaking news from the Brownsville Police Dept.'s Chief Felix Sauceda that there have been no homicides reported in the city within the last 24 hours.
“We’ve been lucky. Everything is going well, and I hope we can keep it that way,” said Sauceda in a phone call.
That streak of good luck has spread to the Brownsville Fire Dept. where Chief Jarrett Sheldon awakened from his nap to confirm that as of the last two weeks, no residential, commercial or grass fires have been reported in the city and its Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).
“We’ve been lucky. Everything is going well, and I hope we can keep it that way,” yawned Sheldon in a phone call.
Likewise, Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz has reported that no capital murder cases have been filed against anyone in the county in the last month and that no appeals court has reversed any capital murder convictions lately.
“We’ve been lucky. Everything is going well, and I hope we can keep it that way,” said Saenz in a phone call.
And Justice of the Peace 2-1 Linda Salazar reported that she has "fixed" no citations "in a while" and that there have been no disciplinary actions issued against her by the Commission of Judicial Conduct in the last month as far as she knew.
“We’ve been lucky. Everything is going well, and I hope we can keep it that way,” said Salazar in a phone call.
And sources at the Brownsville Herald say that things are going along smoothly and that the last time AIM Media sent a reporter to Brownsville about a month ago, there had been no reports uncovered of a man biting a dog as far as they knew.
“We’ve been lucky. Everything is going well, and I hope we can keep it that way,” said a Herald receptionist in the advertising department who said in a phone call that she was the only one in the cubbyhole that passes for an office.

Trump has led this country down the Manuel Noriega Trail and we may be lost for awhile.
Do we know how many at the jail (inmates and Sheriff's Dept) have been tested for the virus??? Omar "The Tent Maker" Lucio doesn't tell us that; or, the Reyna Brothers haven't programmed Lucio to tell us that information. While Omar will tell us anything to make his office look good before the election, we can expect the same from other local politicians. Filemon Vela is on a week break so that he can, on behalf of Nancy Pelosi, tell us how terrible things are in Washington because of Trump and that Texas, with its Republican Governor, is moving too fast to resume business activity. We have seen Vicente Gonzalez doing the same thing on TV from McAllen. This is a Congressional vacation to incite the "sheep" that support the Democratic Party. While there haven't been many murders or major crimes, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency and ignorance have increased here.
The truth....please no fake news....good try.....hiding something?
Fajitas?
Funny!
Eric Garza es un idiota bien echo.

Here's a thought! Let's send all the adult homes residents to quarantine at the county jail! That would eliminate COVID-19 deaths in the valley lol Sheriff Lucio will be the hero and King Trevino can go back selling furniture with his mom!
