FROM CITY HALL: ROCK IS GONE, DIVERSITY EMBRACED

The community thanks Jerry and Juan for helping in bringing down the rock which represented bigotry and oppression in this nation. The community is also sad that other Brownsville bloggers did not join or lead the efforts to correct the injustice that this monument represented. It seems that Diego is still trying to find a place to eat; as per Bobby, the time was not the right time; DPM is still trying to find the silly mayor; and of course, Barton is still in his honeymoon.

The City Commissioners did the right thing. Thank you.

Yes, it is a "Great Day in Brownsville".

Our future District 4 commissioner!

The juxtaposition of both of those resolutions are too absurd to comprehend

Thanks for passing the removal of the rock and the racist resolution but now work on fixing the following: pot holes, flooding, traffic jams, sync the lights, and STOP building bike trails we don't use them, bus shelters.

Stop using choke holds and deadly force when NOT needed.
NO MORE HISPANIC DEATHS HERE BY BROWNSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!

Gosh darn, such worse terrible things have transpired way before the Jefferson Davis memorial.
How about the soldiers cemetary transplanted from Fort Brown to God knows only where.
Grave robbers know.
They've been looting caskets for civil war uniform buttons and CSA belt buckles with metal detectors for years.
Suspect these graves are in the salt flats near SpaceX.

Maybe they even inadvertently opened up yellow fever, anthrax or Spanish flu spores whole digging up these soldiers.

Will Gringo hate still be permitted and rampant on this site?

They removed the rock!! NOW, what will be done with the Stillman "tecorucho"
that was dragged down from Petronilla where Stillman hid when they were looking for him for selling cotton to the North through Bagdad? Did he not also own slaves? So why are we honoring and spending money on that old ranch?
Get rid of that espantajo at Linear Park!!!!!

A great day for who? I won't piss and moan over a rock! Dam can't you people find something better to do? Tackle real issues man. Protest how our PUB rates are too high or how Space X is ruining or environment and shutting down highways when they please.

"Protest how our PUB rates are too high . . . ." Anonymous 12:32pm

Anonymous 12:32pm, are you concern about the PUB rates or the mismanagement of the funds by PUB? Are you willing to lead the protest? Present your case (PUB and Space X) and give the people of this community something to do. Quiere ser Chingon, hagalo. La gente del pueblo le oye si lo hace.

Bobby remains silent instead of celebrating the removal of the rock that represented racism and bigotry for so many years in our community. I guess the City Commissioners did not listen to the so call voice of Brownsville when he stated, "There is no time for this during two major crises."
