Melissa A. Landin was hired as the City Administrator for the City of Eagle Lake at last Tuesday’s city council meeting.

Landin was appointed by Mayor Mary Parr with full confirmation by the council.

Landin is former City Administrator and Utilities Director for the City of Falfurrias, approximately 78 miles southwest of Corpus Christi, and will join the City of Eagle Lake later this month.

City officials state Landin has extensive experience in government, communications, public relations, marketing, tourism, affordable housing, emergency management and within the private and non-profit sectors.

“I look forward to positively contributing to the great work the Mayor, Board of Aldermen and City Team are already accomplishing,” Landin said. “I believe community engagement and developing strong partnerships are equally significant to a city’s growth. We must all work together to promote the city’s assets — from its natural resources to its historic attributes.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business technology with a focus on communications from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. She is also a Certified Public Manager, a national certification for non-profit executive directors and city managers. The CPM Program falls under the National Certified Public Manager Consortium.
