CITY PRIORITIES: BIKE-FRIENDLY, BUT NOT PEOPLE FRIENDLY?

(Ed.'s Note: An Extra-Terrestrial alighting on Brownsville today would think that the City of Brownsville's Public Works Dept. must be operating under a set of priorities which places the recreation interests of the few over the needs of the most.

If he (are there female ETs?) saw the outpouring of city assets to add another layer of limestone-fortified asphalt to a hike-and-bike trail that really didn't need any fixing since there were no holes on its surface which few people use, he might ask himself why and why the city is not taking crews and materials to fix the streets that people really use.
EL RRUN RRUN: 28 IF: MCCARTNEY'S DEATH WAS HOAX, ARE LOCAL PROJECTS?
The poor moonstruck alien would have no idea why this was happening and why no city efforts are being made to repair the pock-marked streets like Rockwell Drive where hundreds of people live in  Section 8 housing assistance.

How could he know that the unused hike-and-bike trials have a champion in city commissioner Rose Gowen, a doctor who thinks putting people on a bike is the salvation to their physical condition in the poorest city in the nation.

The residents living in the public-assistance developments have no such paladin on the city commission and probably can't afford a nice family car, much less the the nice bikes they need to ride the trails. This is real city politics: The squeaky sprockets gets the oil and asphalt and a shrill shill, too.)

Please - Please
The effort to improve HEALTHY life styles like exercise by riding bikes will take off EVENTUALLY.
We have a crisis in OBESITY and DIABETES leading to high fatalities from COVID.
Please help make these bike trails a success.
If you don't have a bike then you might want to take a hike.
It reminds me of the story of the crabs in a bucket.
We keep pulling ourselves down.
Anyway, good luck to the COB for trying to get these trails in decent shape.
Lord knows we need them,
Heck we don't have sidewalks in most area.
So we might as well make the best of the space to improve the COB with decent bike trails.
Maybe our kids will walk a bit.

Instead of repairing bike trails, make improvements to city streets which many are in dire need of repairs. Its all about politics and pet projects, very pathetic.

@11:30 "We have a crisis in OBESITY and DIABETES leading to high fatalities from Covid" Pendejo! the high rate is from false positives being added to the deaths of taco eaters!!!

Some areas with sidewalks are convenient for bricked mailboxes, brush and off street parking.
Oh well......

@11:30 Pendejo! The high death rate is from false positives being added to the Cameron county fake COVID-19 deaths list and with the complications of too many taco eaters in the valley! Ponte en dieta pinche mamones de Brownsville y usa la bicicleta para degarsar!

He needs a bike trail helpers permit and be supervised by one of the city commissioners, other wise it would be illegal for him to repair the bike trails as they are federal property owned by el world pendejo de trump. His new titile will be "Hey". He'd be making billions and billions...

Eider will be supervising the building of the NEW custom build gucci bike trails a toll both will be built at every 1000 feet and entrance fee will have to be paid and eider will keep 90%. Billions to be made here since there are thousands and thousands of users.

this city is nothing but an eder for the scammers (elected officials)...

Anonymous said...

Was that bike trail limestone put out to bid or bought from a friend of the commissioners? They all know that the FBI won't do anything so now the sky's the limit...

New city policy suck up to ANY city commissioner and you'll be entitled to get a contract that includes shorty the mayor.

Anonymous said...

The mayor and city commisioners are full of Eder and they ain't worth a Eder.

Keep voting these same elected officials and you will get the same results. More tax dollars on useless bike lines and bike trails. Forget about the real issues such as street maintenance, drainage and public safety. Priorities are all screwed up.
