Trump’s cavalier attitude toward the pandemic continued even after he was treated for the illness. His comments when he returned to the White House that the virus was nothing to fear were an insult to the families of those who have died from the disease and those who, without the extreme care he received, still struggle with the virus and its effects.
The refusal to practice social distancing and to wear a face mask are now seen as evidence of loyalty to the president. He reinforced that message when he removed his face mask at the White House. The irony of this is that many of the White House staff and others may have been exposed to the virus at a ceremony for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Those in attendance, such as that Baptist Pastor from Dallas, were there to support a judge they believe will end the right of abortion. Their following the president in his refusal to admit the seriousness of this pandemic reveals the hypocrisy of their “pro-life” view.
Only lives in the womb matter. Those already born and facing a deadly pandemic are of no concern.
