GAVITO HITS THE BIG TIME: FEATURED ON COURT TV

(Ed.'s Note: The stage is set for local legendary lawman George Gavito to make yet another cameo on Court TV this Sunday. The show will explore the case against Susie Mowbray. She was found to be wrongly convicted in 1988 of murdering her husband, Bill Mowbray, in 1987. After incessantly protesting her innocence, she was granted a retrial in Nov. 1995 in a decision affirmed by a Texas appeals court that ruled that Cameron County prosecutors concealed a crucial report on the blood splatter evidence that supported her innocence.

Gavito makes his appearance with Court TV host Ashleigh Banfield in Judgment, Your Front Row Seat to Justice, this Sunday at 7 p.m.m Central Standard Time.

After almost 10 years in incarceration in 1997, Mowbray was retried and acquitted on January 24, 1998. Defense attorneys argued that forensic evidence showed her husband committed suicide while she was asleep next to him in bed. Dr. Herbert MacDonnell testified that it was likely Mowbray committed suicide. After her acquittal she said: "Thank God it's over. We have been living with this burden and this hell for 10 years."

The lawman is said to be considering inking a deal with the series producer as an expert consultant on border law enforcement and to advice them on upcoming sequels.)

What really happened to Bill Mowbray? Did he do it himself or else, who did?
So many mistakes were made at that time.

A legend in his own mind!!

The Mowbray case was just one more Cameron County prosecution cluster fuck that played fast and loose with the law. Border justice is an oxymoron.

Go for it Gavito. We need more famous people from Brownsville in the national spotlight!

Juan Montoya should be the next consultant.

Lets see if I recall wasn't he a DA investigator when he was taped on a phone call offering a job to someone to keep Saenz out of hot water with a female employee? Wasn't he involved with the Limas trial and even married to the law partner of Resenthal for what reason? Wasn't he involved with Olivera giving him police reports or something? There isn't enough room to mention the great things this great law man has done for Cameron County. Give me back Chief Krausse Brownsville Chief Cortez San Benito Chief Anderson Harlingen when cops were cops not pay to play playboys.

His spot light will last a long as a match stick. Oooops its already goooone. Its a good thing, before he screws up and make bufoons out of the RGV.
We don't need ontogeny and heritability professors to come down here and look for residents to fill up their ZOOs.

The Brownsville Police Department is sinking fast with Chief FeliX Sauceda at the top. Chief Sauceda can not handle or get a grip of his department.
The Chief only sees what he want's to see; and only hears what he wants to hear.
You have failed Chief Sauceda and you make the people you command only show you what you want to see and when you look in the mirror you only see what you want to believe. Chief Sauceda you did not earn your spot and you got the position under the table just like you have your whole career.
Stop pretending to be something your not, the devil comes in many Disguises..
