(Ed.'s Note: True to character, District Judge Migdalia Lopez was gracious in defeat after losing the race for Place 4 on the Texas 13th Court of Appeals. The district covers 20 counties. Both Lopez and Nereida Lopez-Singelterry won in Cameron and Hidalgo but were overwhelmed by their opponents' supporters in Nueces County and other Red Counties. Incumbent Justice Jaime Tijerina won in Place 4 with 312,526 to 294,040 for Lopez and Lopez-Singleterry lost to Republican Clarissa Silva drawing 296,225 to 307,782 votes.)

Wow Republicans won? Wow big blow to el gilly hinojosa and his democRAT camotes, wow what a surprise gilberto right?
Judge Migdalia is a winner! Her professionalism and her integrity is above
all. She served us well and maybe it is time to retire and reap in what she has sowed. I thank her for being the kind of official that exemplifies what a true public servant should be. I was wondering if we could possible convince her to take a couple of years off and then come back and run for the BISD board. If the board would run like she ran her court, all the children of BISD, as well as all employees, would be held accountable to do their best every day. What do you say, Judge Migdalia? Think about it!
Thanks for the time you served us well. More elected officials should be like you.
Ha, ha que bueno! Got sick and tired of her photo shopped campaign signs!
