If someone were to clink on the Brownsville Police Dept. Inmate list on its website, they would reach the conclusion that the PD has not arrested anyone since December 8. 2020. http://brownsvillepd.blogspot.com/
In fact, the latest posting is headed by a perp named Celso Garcia who is charged with Indecent Exposure, and a few others with assault and DWI.
We wonder if the arrest of Garcia – for exhibiting his miserias – could have acted as a deterrent for other wrong doers who were thinking of misbehaving. Man, if they arrest you for pissing in an alley or exhibiting your wares, imagine what they would do to you for armed robbery or aggravated assault, hey?
Well, we looked a bit into the jerk Celso Garcia's wrongdoing and found out that on the night he was arrested he was at a downtown cantina asking the woman behind the bar to come and check out his action and whispered sweet little nothings from a distance.
She refused and told him that she was going to call the police if he didn't quit. At that, our Brownsville Lothario want to the bathroom and peered out the side of the cubicle calling for her to come over and check out his technique. She, of course, refused and called the cops.
But the local gendarmes took so long to make their way downtown that it gave Celso a long time to finish off the task at hand and made a mess in the bath. Even after he was told the cops were on their way, he was still hopeful his show of manhood would entice the barkeep to join him in the back.
When they finally got there, Celso, now rested and satisfied, was whisked away to the Jackson Street holding cells to await his arraignment in the morning.
That, of course, was disgusting, but given the other crimes that might have been committed it could hae been a crime of passion driven by lust.
We're lucky to be so free of crime and we await the annual FBI Uniform Crime Reporting stats for Brownsville to see if they reflect this huge drop. Or is it drops?

The city has mismanaged the money and cannot keep up. I am working with several families where Housing wants to take their vouchers because someone helped them with food, their electric bill, or bought pampers. These are sick people at the BHA. You can bet this city commission will just allow these people to go hungry. Families are desperately trying to help one another and the Brownsville Housing Authority is demanding complete accountings on how much help a parent, a charity, or a family member is giving someone on Housing. These are sick and cruel people. We are in the middle of a pandemic and they only have money for their pet projects but not the poor and needy.
we need to amend the charter to make them declare a political party. It is time only those who commit to the tenants of the Justice Democrats can hold office in Brownsville or Cameron County.
The Administration at the Brownsville Housing Authority need to be fired forthwith. This is sick. The main person in charge of the vouchers only has an Associates. What is wrong with this city?
