Special to El Run-Rrun
Eight years later, he is drawing $250,000 a year from the BISD, second only to BISD Superintendent Dr. Rene Gutierrez.
The board majority then chose him from among the eight law firms which submitted a reply for the Request For Qualifications to the district. The only ones not voting for him to represent the district were then-trustees Catalina Presas-Garcia and Lucy Longoria who earned a censure from the board and who Salazar tried to have censured and removed.
Along the way, he accused Presas-Garcia of sexual harassment and of inviting him to spend "two nights together" so he could really get to know her, a charge she vehemently denied which he subsequently withdrew.
Salazar and his firm firm failed to provide their qualifications for 17 of the 51 categories of basic legal services listed by the district. For example, they "Did Not Disclose" their qualifications on:
1. Competitive bidding
2. Copyright Issues
3. Election Law advice
4. Employee Health Insurance Matters
5. Federal Voters Right Advice
6. Fiber Optic Communications System
7. Freedom of Religion Issues
8. Governmental Tort Claims
9. Intergovernmental Agreements
10. Intergovernmental Relations
11. Liability for Asbestos. (No kidding?)
12. Preventive Law
13. Public Utility Commission
14. State Whistle Blower Act Compliance
15. Texas Teacher Retirement System
16. University Interscholastic League
17. Utility Law Regulation
Only three other firms "Did Not Disclose" more categories than Salazar.
Firms such as O'Hanlon, McCullom and Demerath listed 75 years of cumulative legal experience, Thornton, Biechlin, Segrato, Reynolds and Guerra listed 40 years, Gustavo Acevedo listed 45 years, Rogers, Morris and Grover listed 20 years, compared to less than a decade for Salazar.
But the kicker was that in the category of the number of school districts represented by the differing firms, Salazar ranked seventh of the eight with only three districts.

Obviously, the fix was in then. Is the fix in for the selection of board counsel tonight as well? With the new board majority that has promised to be transparent and accountable to the district taxpayers, Salazar's reign may have come to an end. Or is it?
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at the BISD Administration Building Boardroom at 1900 East Price Road.

Self-described Billionaire Trump applies for presidential pension -
Donald Trump — the man who proudly claims to be a billionaire but has carefully avoided many opportunities to prove it — has reportedly taken tens of thousands of dollars in federal pension payments since January. According to Insider, Trump has taken $65,600 in presidential pension payments since he was dragged kicking and screaming from office earlier this year. During his single term, Trump made a song and dance about donating his salary to federal agencies, but it appears he’s had a change of heart about taking taxpayers’ money despite his personal wealth.
hope they dont hire gus acevedo from hidlago county if thats the case then just keep salazar same old same old, puro mesquite tree, bien crooked,
Hola desde Alamogordo, New Mexico USA !!!
Taxpayers are still footing the bill for Donald Trump to pay aides, Business Insider reported Monday.
"Donald Trump's advisor Stephen Miller lost his White House access on Jan. 20, but he continues to pocket a government paycheck — and is slated to do so until late July, according to government records," Business Insider reported. "Miller is one of at least 17 people who continued to receive taxpayer-funded salaries while working for Trump's post-presidential transition office, according to government documents released to Insider under the Freedom of Information Act. Trump's post-presidential staff is expected to receive about $1.3 million in federal salary and benefits between January 20 and July 21, when the formal presidential transition period ends, according to an estimate prepared by the General Services Administration."
That allows Trump to spend more than $200,000 a month on salary and benefits.

Salazar, cara de nalga, thinks he is God's gift to everyone. Pobres sus padres who sacrificed so much for him, just like the Atkinsons. He was out to make more money than Dr.Zendejas and lied through the spaces without teeth in his mouth. It is time someone saw what he is really made off and a back stabber. I am interesting in Drew's vote tonight especially, cause she follows him in character as back stabber, even with her comadre Miss Perez.
Hit the road jack, saludos desde el toilet de la courthouse!
Baltazar Salazar was not qualified to be BISD attorney when he was hired in 2013 and now, 8 years later, he's still not qualified. He doesn't even have a real office here. He's a one man law firm getting paid as a real law firm. Complete waste of taxpayers dollars.
Hola desde el cesspool de BISD saludos...
Harris and Emhoff reported federal adjusted gross income of $1,695,225 in 2020 and paying $621,893 in federal income tax, amounting to an effective federal income tax rate of 36.7% for the current president.
Sure but they get everything else free even toilet paper.

Charlie, May 26th Judgment day is coming puñetas!
They’ll screw it up AGAIN! Worthless spineless board! Who will start the resistance? Someone step up and speak out let the public know!
Watch and see how Denise Lopez Valdez votes. Her uncle Mike Saldana is one of the lawyers in a firm being considered tonight. That is a conflict of interest. Salazar lied even as he was being questioned tonight. He filed against Caty and gave up. He lies through his teeth and than renags saying he did not say that. His mother was not a teacher; she was a teacher aide.
Is the firm that won, the Lopez group, the one with Miguel Saladana on it? If so, Denise voted yes - conflict of interest.
@8:13 Dummy it's not Denise Lopez Valdez. It's Daniella Lopez Valdez. Get your names right
@ 8:53 and @ 8:13 Sorry, but Denise’s last name is not Lopez Valdez. You are getting it wrong. You have Denise Garza and Daniella Lopez Valdez. I believe you are referring to Daniella Lopez Valdez.
If your going to comment at least get the names correct!
Denise Garza
Daniella Lopez Valdez
Are 2 different members!!!
Denise and Daniella are related .
Salazar, 8 year gravy train is over. NO POS WOW. el not to worry, Now time to get to work, snicky nick style horale
Oops, my apologies to Denise Garza for mistakenly using her first name in front of Lopez-Valdez. I stand corrected on mistakenly comparing Denise to someone who would not be ethical enough to disclose her conflict of interest situation. I beg your pardon, but my other facts were write and sorry if I offended anyone.
Denise gringa Daniella meskin any questions????
