* The inspector found intercoms that communicate inmates with jailers not properly working
* Inmate logs were not completed, there was missing paperwork, and a serious lack of manpower
*And there were 4 jail pods without jailers, being supervised only by cameras!
And to make things even more interesting, federal sources report that the U.S Marshals Service is on the verge of pulling all 80 federal inmates from Sheriff Garza's custody next Monday, costing the county close to $2 million dollars. That's where the money for jail overtime was coming from.
* The Texas Commission on Jail Standards gave Sheriff Garza 24 hours to solve the issue with the intercoms and 30 days to hire at least 50 jailers.

Another lawsuit is reportedly coming after an inmate lost her baby to a miscarriage due to a bad decision from a recently promoted jail lieutenant. The officer is said to have allowed a pregnant inmate to be handcuffed and transported in a van over a bumpy road.
With just a little over five months into his four-year term, will this administration last?

This is the time where all supervisors at the CCSO need to step up and defend their deputies and jailers. Enough is enough. supervisors this is a comment for you. Find your balls and stand up for your subordinates as they love to say. Stop letting the Chief with absolutely no experience and the Captain who takes his advice from a rookie stop bossing you around and embarrassing you guys. Your employees see this and it’s embarrassing. Hold your ground and start defending them. That is why you are supervisors. Do your damn jobs. Stick together and find your voices and demand respect because you have earned it. Because currently every single one of you has lost the respect from your “subordinates.” Do your jobs and please stop telling us that you have “our backs” when we all know that’s complete bullshit.

Once again...The voters had a choice between an inexperienced, incompetent, politically connected Mexican Democrat and an experience, competent Gringo Republican and guess who they chose? If the voters ever pull their heads out of their asses and examine candidates on their merits, instead of their party and ethnicity, maybe Cameron County might have a chance of being something other than the arm pit of the United States. It is said, that past behavior is the best indicater of future behavior, so I am not hopeful.
Even the old fuzzy headed Sheriff Lucio told you to vote for the gringo.

I apologize, I haven't been around to comment on Rancho Viejo. My job takes me up to the oilfields outside of Pecos and I'm not always able to get on the computer. Looks like Sheriff's dept. is a total mess. Maybe Chief Robert "Waterboy" Tyler can hire him on in Rancho Viejo. These two clueless people can try to run that dept.
Why we would hire someone with no experience is beyond me. The same thing with the Sheriff. Why we would elect someone with no experience?
I wasn't able to make it to Chief Waterboy's "Coffee with the Chief" and he apparently won't put it on Facebook anymore because he really doesn't want anyone knowing where he gets his ideas on how to run the dept. But a little birdy told me that on a recent payday, he and one of his subordinates were heard commenting that "they can't believe they get paid for this". We can't believe it either "Waterboy" Just keep passing out waters to the residents and keep listening to what they say. Maybe, just maybe, you can actually call yourself a Police Chief one of these days.
Just fix the problems. Treat the prisoners with respect....even though most of them do not expect to be treated well. Hire more employees and pay them good salaries and give them good benefits.
Finally someone tells the supervisors to step up to the plate and do there jobs. Especially Lt Guerra and Sgt Crizsnto. You two are the worst supervisors from the department. Your whole shift doesn’t like you or believe that you can supervise them correctly. It must suck that you have all your deputies come in to work on there days off and you all can’t do it too. Grow a pair and stand up to your daddy Abe and Eddie Guerra too. Since he brags that he is untouchable even from his own supervisors. That his own supervisors are scared of him.
So now we know that this inexperienced law enforcement official knows nothing about running a LE department and its sections. I guess he'll be blaming ex-Sheriff omar lucio and his two lackey reyna boys. This is what happens when you bring in an ex-fed, who was always under a watchful eye, ex-LEO' who are put in charge and WERE bad LEO's to beat. So, when will eric finally grow some balls and do the job that he was elected to do? When a jailer gets killed? Maybe, a deputy?
About all that eric has done right is get tied up in lawsuits where money is thrown away defending him and the county! Only in CC!
If the jail supervisors spent the same amount of time running the jail instead of being on Facebook you wouldn't have this problem. The jail leadership sucks, fire them all.

Blaming the last administration for problems the jail has today is stupid. The last administration could at least keep their employees. This one can't even keep their inner circle happy. They fight amongst themselves because they were all promised easy jobs. Running a law enforcement agency and jail is not for amateurs. To be delivered on the 4th, instructions are that everybody NEEDS to make 2 notice 2 arrests not just one if not than arrest yourself that will make 2. That's the purpose of two handcuffs.... great idea cheriffe.
