The photo at top was taken with Brownsville Independent School District board president Eddie GArcia and his better half during Diaz's Campaign Kickoff party Sept. 9 at the Arre Vivo Bar, 2223 Central Blvd., in Brownsville. The other two – one at Skinner where DIaz arrived to give presents to Special Needs students at Skinner Elementary and the other at Cromack Elementary with another group of students there.
Now, the question was this: Is BISD president Garcia allowing her to campaign on district property? We reached out to Garcia and he emphatically said that although he personally supports Diaz in her campaign for Cameron County Clerk, he had no role in allowing her to visit the schools and give the kids presents nor did he accompany her to Skinner or Cromack.
(Diaz, by the way, is a friend and neighbor of Eddie's sister, 138th District Judge Gaby Garcia. But the Canons of Judicial conduct do not allow judges – at any level to advocate for anyone's political candidacy.)
In fact, he said that BISD Superintendent Dr. Rene Gutierrez and the principals of the schools are the only ones authorized to allow individuals on campus.
The photos, we are told, came from her Perla Diaz for County Clerk Facebook page.
Knowing how strict BISD authorities are on allowing people on the campuses and also allowing photographs to be taken of the students and published without their parents' permission, we wonder whether all those niceties had been followed in the case of the Diaz campaign.
Can all candidates for public office – including incumbent County Clerk Sylvia Garza-Perez – as long as they don't wear any clothing or political messages, visit campuses and hand out gifts to the kids and later publish them in their social media platforms constructed to further their political candidacies?
P.S. Right after we posted the article above, one of Diaz's supporters sent us this photo of Garza-Perez donating Christmas gifts at Burns Elementary that apparently includes one of her business card attached to the gift bag at left. Doesn't this constitute campaigning, they asked? 
As we told Garcia, this is a slippery slope. Careful you don't slip.)

President Garcia would never break the rules and allow that to happen . Mr.Garcia was one of BPD FINEST officers ever ! He was one of the bravest , toughest, and overall excellent police offer . BPD has not been the same since his retirement .

The BIG difference between Diaz campaigning at BISD campuses and County Clerk Garza-Perez visiting one of Care Partner program schools is the Sylvia Garza Perez was selected to be apart of that program . Sylvia has been a member of BISD's Care Partner program since being elected to office and visits her selected schools through out the school year,every year not just when she is up for re-election.
Now how did Perla Diaz get access to BISD campuses, BISD employees,and BISD students ?
Is Perla a member of Care Partner program ? No . Is Perla NOW just caring about BISD because she is running for office ? Yes.
Another BIG difference is actual community service . Garza Perez has over 30 years of community service with different organizations that make a difference here in Cameron county. So before our County clerk decided to seek an elected office she had already served her community .
Now Perla has no where near the amount of community service as Sylvia.Perla just STARTED caring , showing up to public events, PRETENDING to be involved in the community because she is running for office.
Perla brings nothing to the table and has nothing to offer Cameron County , she knows nothing about community service . She is just the next poor victim talked into running against Sylvia.
President Garcia was nothing BUT good riddance from Brownsville PD. Once he found out he was going back to patrol he retired. He realized that he would actually have to work during the night and would no longer be able to work security at the $1 movies. Brownsville is NOT the same since little eddie left, it's actually better, too much time was being wasted on this lazy ass.
Absolutely WRONG! Why in the HELL is BISD allowing this crap to happen???? If any candidate wants to donate gifts to the special needs kids they can send them without having to photograph themselves handing out gifts. It is soooo Mexican when it comes to trying to buy votes. BISD needs to answer some questions.

Interesting in the jealousy of Mr Garcia who retired honorably after 32 years of service. Shows the haters that can't stand the heat. It shows how misinformed and uneducated some people are. Looking at what has transpired at board meetings there's definitely positive change happening at the school district. Mr Garcia must ve doing something right and it shows that's why he's being targeted and trying to discredit him. Everyone has a right to support/endorse whomever they like. It's clearly stated that principals and superintendent control access to schools, NOT the board. It's also clearly stated that any citizen can visit schools as long as they're not campaigning. Definitely attaching their identifying information clearly show their intention.

Sylvia has supported candidates who have lost in the past and has still manages to win her own campaign . People through out CAMERON COUNTY know who they can count on when they need help and know who has been available to help every year ,not just during election time and that's Sylvia.
As to her staff they are free to support who ever they like ,but it's up to the voters of Cameron County to pick their boss.
Now as to Perla who thinks she has Sylvia's staff in her back pocket has forgotten how rude and disrespectful she has been to all the other county employees at the courthouse.
