Will SpaceX Turn Brownsville Into the Next Texas Boomtown?

Yes, if Brownsville gets out of the way!

Fatalism dooms Mexicans at every turn. We have seen it over and over and over in Browntown. If it's not cheap-ass politics, it's turning its back on progress. SpaceX is a godsend for this under-achieving, under-performing town of - what? - 200,000 people!

Let Elon Musk do his thing. Go with the arena. Let BCIC make its moves (Graham Sevier was right!).

And get off your blogging high horse. Just because an uneducated blogger gets a text message that this or that is wrong does not mean that it is.

Dare to be great. What Brownsville has now is....nothing.

City residents who should stop getting publicity: Tito Mata. Tony Zavaleta. Ben Neece. Bob Sanchez. Carlos Cascos. Joey Lopez. Eddie Lucio, etc., etc. They are Old School, road-tired warhorses.

Dream the impossible dream.

Too many fuckups in Brownsville. If only we had a real newspaper to look into SpaceX a lot closer. Bloggers don't have the brains. Wheeling and dealing is the billionaire's game. Easy to pull one over our rubes.

Al alva, bronsvil.

Te estan chapeteando.

When it comes to Big Business opportunities, Brownsville goes around as if a chaste wife. At home, with little dreamers, it is a cheap slut.

fact.

Dont get your Hope's too high. It is possible that Space X wont last too long in Brownsville. Remember, this is only a rocket testing site, real space launches will always be in Florida. There are also current Space X employees who are already relocating back to Florida.

Is painting the old cantinas down Adams proof of Brownsville becoming a boomtown? Use the money to pave the streets, not the walls. Bars and grills do not make it a boomtown! Service to the community would!

Let me tell you the answer to that question: LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

If he only knew he's seated with the most corrupt mayor in Brownsville's history.

A local insurance agent one said that Space-X would bring a hoard of people and money into Brownsville, once again dragging it into the United States whether some like it or not.

The answer is NO! SpaceX is a COVER for something that none of us can explain...Elon has no intention of launching anything to Mars from South Texas. This land was acquired for something else...hmmm....the question is what?!

Fantasy Land.
Brownsville was the center of the RGV in the 80's during tough times (peso devaluation), we didn't have SPACE X, then we started electing greedy mayors, greedy commissioners, then Cameron County was left behind and the upper valley flourished. You put all your eggs in one basket, you might end up with all broken or spoiled eggs.
The tape talks about money, a billionaire that comes to town as the savior but does not touch on how the natives lack education, opportunities, and the only ones that make those high salaries are people brought in from some place else.
Not being negative, stating reality. As a native, I would like to see the maquiladoras on THIS SIDE, other factories ON THIS SIDE, manufacturing and/or agricultural jobs ON THIS SIDE. I don't want to go to Mars, I want to live on earth with a clean ocean and breathable air.

Instead of the BCIC Members enriching themselves they should go business to business downtown offering grants to update all the businesses street by street not just one nice building in the middle of old buildings
