LOCAL LAWYERS: KEEP MAGALLANES ON THE 357TH COURT

Special to El Run-Rrun

Dear friends and neighbors, as we approach the end of the first week of the early vote, remember your vote counts, your voice matters, and most importantly, your participation gives us the ability to elect good people and better judges.

Judges and Courts have a significant impact on our daily lives, and we entrust them to make some of the more important decisions that affect us.

Only a judge can grant a divorce, confirm an adoption, order the termination of parental rights, impose a sentence of imprisonment or death. I am writing to ask for your support of a man who has gone from a great trial lawyer to an even greater judge.

Most of us first met Juan Magallanes as a lawyer, husband, and father, probably at some political pachanga. After winning a race for the ages in 2014, he became the Judge for the 357th District Court, where we have all gotten to know a Judge who truly cares, is compassionate, fair, and just.

He demonstrates his commitment to the judicial profession being on time and prepared, expecting the same from all of us, attorneys, probation officers and court staff. His commitment to justice, while bound to apply the law he does it with an eye to the ultimate purpose of the judicial system – to serve justice. He takes his time to analyze every case before ruling and profound reflection before passing sentence.

His commitment to making wise decisions time and again, his ability to analyze complicated legal issues and apply the law appropriately, he makes listening a form of communication, he will never set you up for failure; he has the common touch, el sentido comun.

This “common sense” gives him a sound understanding of people, our community and a sense of its shared perceptions.

Un Juez de la Gente (a judge for the small guy).

Judge Magallanes exhibits excellent judicial temperament with his dry sense of humor; the Judge brings the right mix of humility, diligence, and intelligence to his proceedings in and outside the courthouse. He is comfortable with his authority and its limitations ruling promptly and explaining his decision clearly to the parties.

When in front of Judge Magallanes, it does not matter what day it is; who you are; whom you represent, you will get grilled, you will be questioned, but at the end, everyone who comes before him comes out knowing he had a fair and honest hearing.

Let's keep a man of integrity on the bench, Vote Judge Magallanes 357th with appreciation.

Victor Ramirez is a better choice. Judge Magallanes already had his turn. It doesn't matter how good of a person you are. What matters is how knowledgeable the individual is when it comes to the law and more importantly, how to apply the law accordingly. What matters is fairness, regardless of who, what, and where. I believe Victor Ramirez is a good person and a man for all people. However, what matters is Victor Ramrez's moral standing and the knowledge he will bring to Cameron county. Judge Magallanes is probably a good person, unfortunately, we need more than a good person for the position.
Judge Magallanes had a good run, however, he lost a lot of voters after the meeting at the rancho with Mando and Cesar de Leon. People have feelings, and no matter what they say to his face, the truth is that the votes will show if that betrayal was forgotten.

It would be a man to commend this misogynistic judge. He doesn't know how to speak to his colleagues. He demonstrates unprofessinalism in his courtroom by yelling at attorneys, staff. Vote Victor Ramirez.

With all due respect, this is humiliating to the judge. It’s like they are begging on his behalf. I’m hoping he did not know this bullshit was gonna be sent in.

Judge Magallanes is fair and has full knowledge of the application of LAW!!! If he's been a Judge for a long time, there's a reason for it.

ACTUALLY, THAT IS NOT WHAT LOCAL LAWYERS ARE SAYING.

MAGALLANES IS A BITTER HUMAN BEING.

ES CAMARADA DE ABLE LIMAS, GILBERTO HINOJOSA, Y VILLALOBOS.

DIME CON QUIEN ANDAS Y TE DIRE QUE NO VALES CEBO.

Yes, there is a reason. Because no one ran against him. Gloria was supposed to win, He won by a thread! Don't you forget?
I am not up for your bull shit. He might be knowledgeable, I don't know. Apparently, you have been in front of his court! Good luck. Stay away from those courts, that means you are being judged by someone on someone else's accounts. Remember, there's is always your view, their view, and someone else's view.

8:12 "Remember, there's is always your view, their view, and someone else's view." I agree with this statement!!! However, I don't think you understand what you wrote because everything before it, is BIAS!!!
