Republicans may have made inroads into the stranglehold Democrats have traditionally had in South Texas, but the big winner in this election cycle has to be Rodrigo Moreno's Pink Ape Media consulting firm.
Moreno handled the Erin Gamez vs. Jonathan Gracia contest and handily beat Team Gracia despite being a lawyer and having big donors including the Stop Lawsuit Abuse crowd.
Pink Ape was also in charge of the Sara Stapleton campaign who withstood the $750,000 war chest of Hidalgo County-carpetbagger Morgan LaMantia for the new District 27 Texas Senate seat.
"We're analyzing all the angles of local politics and we think we have a good handle on the situation," Moreno told El Rrun-Rrun. "OUr candidate clients know what we do and so far we have had nothing but praise from them. We must be doing something right."
