As a retired elementary school teacher who now instructs children and adults in environmental science-related topics, I find it odd that I am subjected to a background check in each school district, library or nature center that I visit. Odd because the state of Texas does not require universal background checks for people who purchase guns.
With a majority of Texans in favor of universal background checks, where are our many of our elected officials? They are on the other side of this issue. Enough thoughts and prayers. We want action!

Photos showed the Duchess of Sussex laying a bouquet of white roses at a memorial for the victims who were gunned down Thursday at Robb Elementary School.
Markle, 40, was dressed casually in jeans, a T-shirt and a baseball cap.
Markle gazed at the crosses to honor the 19 children and two teachers fatally shot during Tuesday’s attack while ignoring questions from reporters, according to the Los Angeles Times.
She then placed the white roses tied with a purple ribbon at a cross for 10-year-old Uziyah Garcia, the newspaper reported.

The police response has drawn increasing scrutiny as more details and timelines of the attack emerge. Multiple videos circulating on social media show parents pleading with police to do something as they waited outside the building.
“There’s a f**king shooting at the school and these f**king cops are telling everybody to leave, dude, while everybody’s here trying to pick up their f**king kids,” a man can be heard saying in a livestream he filmed on the scene. “They’re just all f**king parking outside, man ― they need to go in there... The cops ain’t doing s**t but standing outside.”

I don't have political party affiliation but I thank Beto for doing what he did in Uvalde. Now, Abbott is going to Uvalde because he knows Beto will be in Houston. Now, who has the cojones?
NOBODY that is not military or a killer needs assault weapons. NOBody will take your second amendment rights away, NOBODY will take your guns or riffles, YES, WE, the regular folks with kids and grandkids want ASSAULT WEAPONS BAND NOW!!

Your post shows that it is better to deny all this happened. The truth is hard to handle. If this happened to you, you will not accept any of this....you will scream, faint, and refuse to participate in a fake hoax.
The relatives of the children are vulnerable: they can go crazy. They lost their child.
The parents of the killer: they did not have time to raise a good boy, nor love him when he needed them most. He was ignored by the parents, he was not educated about money, and he was not respected for bein poor in the USA. The father states that his son was supposed to change his life on his own and join the military. This has to be explained to kids: you have to save yourself from your family and parents. It is a new society. The grandmother was sick and poor. She got shot.
I'm voting for Beto because he's Mexican.

You fail to mention that the Uvalde police have offered conflicting reports and of the time lines. The Lieutenant on CNN admitted they waited for 1 hour before going in because supposedly they were afraid of getting shot. Witnesses saw officers just standing and not moving around. Retard! That should tell you something isn't right about the action of the police? You should be happy for all those victim crisis actors, they will be making some good money out this hoax. Even Grandma who was supposedly shot in the face, but unbelievably survived will be paid for her acting job. With high gas and food prices, I need to find an extra job as a crisis actor! Hahahahahaha!
