AND THE WINNER IS...WOULD YOU BELIEVE BIG PINK APE?

OVERALL DEMOCRAT STATE DISTRICT 37 RESULTS
CAMERON COUNTY DISTRICT 37 RESULTS

OVERALL STATE SENATE DISTRICT 27 RESULTS
CAMERON COUNTY DISTRICT SENATE 27 RESULTS

CAMERON COUNTY COMMISSIONER PCT. 4
JUSTICE OF THE PEACE, PCT. 2, PLACE 2
Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Election day returns indicate that seasoned politician Ruben Cortez, who had coasted to victory as a Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) and State Board of Education (SBOE) board member, saw his downfall before political newcomer Luis Villarreal.

Will Villarreal shed the Eddie Lucio Jr. (and the Turd's) influence?

And Sara Stapleton-Barrera, who had coasted to victory in the Cameron County primary , barely ekked out a win over Morgan LaMantia by 79 votes this time around. Hidalgo County did her in.Why did Stapleton-Barrera change ad agency horses in the middle of the stream and opt to hire the Ernie Hernandez (Fiesta Graphics) for the runoff?

To go with a former county commissioner who was removed from office for political corruption when she had a seasoned campaigner in Pink Ape gave people reason to wonder.

Say what you want about Rodrigo Moreno, but it is obvious that the Hernandez clan came up short lacking the clout in Hidalgo County needed to upend the LaMantia million-dollar surge that had been blunted in the Cameron County primary by the Pink Ape strategies. Now, with LaMantia going to the Republican-controlled Texas House and Senate, will she change her spots and side with the GOP? Or will she pull an Eddie Lucio and sidle up to Gov. Greg Abbott and forget about us? After all, she owes nothing to Cameron County, does she?

Gus Ruiz overcame the surge that J.V. Garcia, who endorsed LaMantia, generated to stay as Cameron County Pct. 4 commissioner.

There are a lot of lessons to be learned here. One is that money talks, and Sara walked, and that even the shenanigans utilized by Hernandez-backed Liz Garza could not overcome the established political powerhouse of the Sofia Benavides-Mary Esther Sorola team.

Rodrigo, you Big Ape!

UVALDE, Texas, EE.UU.

Glad to see Sara lose. If she had won, the valley would have lost a lot of influence in the state legislature. Let her raise her boys as girls if she wants.

AUSTIN – Hours after a massacre at a Uvalde elementary school, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott attended a campaign fundraiser, as other state officials canceled similar political events in the wake of the tragedy.

Abbott’s spokesman said the Republican stopped by a “previously scheduled event last night at a private home in Walker County,” after holding a press conference on the shooting that left 21 people dead, including 19 children.

Campaign spokesman Mark Miner did not answer questions about why Abbott, who’s up for reelection this year, went ahead with the East Texas event or how he managed the state’s response to the shooting while attending the closed-door affair. The fundraiser was first reported by Texas politics news site Quorum Report.

Jeff Bradley of Huntsville confirmed hosting the fundraiser for Abbott, but offered no further details. It’s not clear who was in attendance or how long the event lasted.

The governor showed up after holding a press conference in Abilene, where he briefed the public on wildfires in the area and the shooting. On Tuesday evening, President Joe Biden called and spoke to Abbott “to offer any and all assistance he needs in the wake of the horrific shooting,” according to the White House.

Asked Wednesday why he didn’t cancel the political event, Abbott said he stopped in on the way back to Austin and “let people know that I could not stay, that I needed to go.”

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin yelled at Beto O'Rourke, the Democratic nominee for Texas governor, on Wednesday during a press conference a day after 21 people, including 19 children, were killed in one of the largest school shootings in U.S. history.

McLaughlin, a Republican who has appeared on the Tucker Carlson Show in the past, yelled at O'Rourke, who interrupted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as Abbott gave updates on the shooting and the aftermath from Uvalde High School.

McLaughlin called O'Rourke a "sick son of a bitch," as he chided the former El Paso area congressman and Senate candidate.

Th Hernandez can’t pick a winner to save their lives. Not like they care one way or the other. Poor Liz, Sara, and Erika, don’t even know what hit them. Got their asses handed to them, but the Hernandez clan still turned a coin on their dimes! Good luck paying off that debt the Hernandez put y’all in. That’s all a hand shake with those snakes is worth. They get rich, you lose and incur debt. Let this be a lesson to any aspiring politician moving forward…STEER CLEAR OF THE HERNANDEZ SCUM!
