FIRST ANNUAL ROAST HOUSE MARKET DAYS SATURDAY DRAWS CAR, COFFEE LOVERS DOWNTOWN TO WASHINGTON STREET

(Ed.'s Note: It was an afternoon of antique cars, artisan handicrafts and a DJ playing rock and roll tunes and Tejano music to the visitors with the tunes carried along with the aroma of roasting coffee beans during the first annual Market Days on Washington Street. The antique vehicles included Chevys, Fords, even an air-cooled Karmann Ghia convertible made by Volkswagen. Organizers say the turnout indicates that people want events like this to bring visitors and shoppers to the downtown area and say they will try to make this an annual event.)

This is no different than going to a rodeo featuring old horses.

There should have been more cars but the stamps came in late. Cracker faces wanted to bring horses... Coco maricon enano said NO Guey.

Parking meters are free on weekends and free weekdays after 5:00pm. But if you still want to put coins in them and waste your money Saturday and Sunday and weekdays after 5:00 they will take your coins.

What stupidity we have city commissioners that are way out on left field. the all need to go puros babosos. all the shoppers that day went to the mall and other places that have parking. ESTUPIDOS commisionados.

DO NOT VOTE TO RE-ELECT NOBODY EVEN TO NEW POSITIONS THEY DO THIS TO CONTINUE THEIR RATISMO....

saw this "lloron" on social media whining about not getting the street closed.. Im not too sure who this guy thinks he is but i hope he realizes his lack of attendance at this poorly coordinated event is the same amount of support he's getting from the community, little to none. Zeke "el lloron" no one likes you bro....

Jessica Tetreu Kalifa tried to destroy the event for downtown. She wasn't allowed to show off her new nose job and she called in the traffic department to not allow the event to happen. Lucky for downtown buisness, Brownsville doesn't need a monster like Jessica T. Kalifa to scare the kids away and investors away. We have smart buisness people with Brains to do away with rodents. Rats try to hide but we find them and destroy them.

CLOSE THE DOWNTOWN AREA AND MAKE IT A PERMANENT WALK AROUND SHOPPING AREA. PURCHASE SOME LOTS FOR PARKING. INSTEAD OF SPENDING ON MURALS AND BIKE TRAILS DO SOMETHAT THAT WILL BENEFIT EVERYBODY.

Me voy de soldado razo
Voy a empesar a la fila
Con los valientes muchachos
Que dejan madres queridas
Que dejan novias llorando
llorando su despedida
Voy contento a la guerra
Ya tengo rifle y pistola
Ya volvere de sargento
Cuando se he acabe la bola
Nomas una cosa siento
Dejar a mi madre sola
Virgen morena
Mi madre ten comiendo
Cuidala que es muy buena
Cuidala mientras vuelvo
Mi virgen guadalupana
Protejare mi bandera
Ay cuando me halle en compana
Cuando estoy lejos de mi tierra
Les probare que mi raza
Sabe morir donde quiera
Manana salgo temprano
Al despuntar nuevo dia
Aqui va otro mexicano
Que va jugar se la vida
Que se despide cantando
Que viva la patria mia
Virgen morena
Mandales un consuelo
Nunca jamas permitas
Que se la lleve el cielo

I just want to Thank the Brownsville Classic Car Club for supporting all the free events throughout Brownsville. Most people don’t know how much time it involves keeping up with a classic vehicle and devoting all their time for an event. keep those oldies looking good 👍
