We have been told in no uncertain terms, that we got the endorsement of the May 6 City of Brownsville candidates wrong.
We were able to reach out to the Firefighters and Brownsville Police Officers Association and learned their endorsements because they had not been posted on their websites or Facebook pages.
But we were unable to reach the Texas Valley Educators Association until today, when Adina Anne Alegria, daughter of the group's president and its executive director told us we had gotten it wrong. We, of course, occasionally do make a mistake, especially when it's difficult to reach someone over the weekend. Ms. Alegia told us that the group endorsed the candidates below, but hadn't posted them yet.
Mayor: Jessica Tetreau
At Large A: Tino Villarreal
District 1: Bryan Martinez
District 2: Linda Macias
She was not happy and texted us that: "I read your blog, and you're clearly writing it incorrectly and creating a false narrative. None of us appreciate that."
If you had read our previous post on the endorsements, you will notice that the only difference in the cops and firefighters endorsements and the TVEA's is the one for the candidate of the At-Large-A position.
The cops and firefighters endorsed Susan Ruvalcava, while the TVEA endorsed Tino Villarreal.
So where's the false narrative?

Especially Jessica the one with jailhouse experience to be mayor of bike and hike trail Brownsville. Keep Brownsville stupid voters and to follow the teachers that never vote. The teachers are too busy complaining of too much work, lack of pay, lack of sex or maybe over sex.

These unions need to get their stuff together, how do you endorse someone for 8-9 days before early voting, is this even an endorsement at that point? Im a part of the fire fighters union and I know for a fact they dragged their feet on this, as did the Police union. Why we have to support that same candidate year in and year our beats me, but I completely disagree. There is no easier way to say the fire fighters union has endorsed the wrong candidates for mayor and Commissioner at large, it's easy to see. Regardless of my participation in my association my vote is my vote and simply my choice! I will go against my union on this one and stand tall that my vote is my choice and I believe the right choice is Cowen and Tino!!! Im sure im speaking for many many officers and firemen with the same opinion who caught themselves thinking "Why did they choose these idiots?".

Normally, I will vote against anyone endorsed by the TVEA, but I had already decided to vote against all of these people. So there we go.
Jessica is such a con artist. She is now saying she will lower our BPUB rates. She needs to listen to her neighbor Bobby, and turn on the news. They cannot export enough natural gas to Europe fast enough. The price of natural gas is only going to go up. Is Jessica just stupid, or just lying to keep her backers happy?

Brother Firefighter; I agree with you 100%, I'm honored and proud to serve our community as a first responder, that being said, our union sadly has endorsed the wrong. I believe our union should never endorse any political city candidate. There are many reasons why I feel this, but the most important is; If they lose, their opponent (the winner) will certainly be against our department. More often than not, we endorse the loser(s)!

8:47am, those TSC Galas are all fake and the TSC Board Members pour money into their friends businesses everytime. All of their buddies come all dress up and eat for free and take tons of pictures with Adela and the BISD lady Aldrete in almost all of them. When does this lady work? Yes, if you all see the pics, its the same families from the city, bisd, political and those board members. Are these people dishing out thousands for TSC? All of the students are on financial aid and lots of federal funding and grants but not for Galas and weekly mixers? Once Sylvia Atkinson comes out of prison, Adela is hosting a welcome to TSC Gala.
