Why him? 20 years? I taught for 45 years and not even Eddie Lucio gave me
anything. ONe of my teachers taught for over 60 years and nobody praised her,
except me, but since both of us are "peons" I will venture to say we do not
deserve that award. Politics could be the answer, but I would never be a
politician.

The problem with teaching is that there are always those teachers that want to rain on somebody's elses parade. If you worked 30,40,50,60,or 65 years either you had your reasons or tu de pendejo. Stop letting the green eyed monster from getting the better of you. Live and let live people in peace.

This gentleman portrays himself as a self made man, which is hard to believe if he attended private school and his parents owned several restaurants. Good for Tino Villarreal. Teachers do not know how to sell themselves. The ones that do fight for recognition etc get schools named after them, get into the Hall of Fame,
We need more teachers to go into the political world. We need elementary teachers, middle school teachers, high school teachers, private school teachers etc to become political leaders.
I want an IDEA teacher to become the mayor of Brownsville next. Also a University professor to become the Mayor of Brownsville. These are natural leaders.

What about all the other coaches or community members in our community that have given the same or more, even doing it for no pay as a volunteer? This is a slap in the face to all of those people.

Clearly a hail mary for Tino. He could have simply accepted the flag AFTER the election, but no he would rather baste in an award that is only coming to him because of the influentials in Brownsville and their attempt to keep Susan out of the seat. She will clearly expose them and prevent further compradismo and they know it! Tino bailed the PUB board one week after his buddy Cesar De Leon resigned from commission, we all know why!

That’s nothing, there’s some elementary/middle school / high school coaches throughout the RGV that have many more yrs of service and more successful than this mediocre coach! Most American Veterans families don't get an American flag until their Veteran passes away and most of our living Veterans have to buy their own. Where are the priorities here?
About those congressman flags -
Two guys are assigned the duty of hoisting U.S. flags all day long and letting them fly for a few seconds. These flags are then sold to Congresspeople, who then give them to constituents.
Not that big of a deal or prize.
Not as if that particular flag flew over the White House or the Capitol Building for any length of time.

Wow,to give a flag to a non veteran takes the cake. You guys are so afraid of Susan. That should tell everyone Tino can't stand on his own 2 feet. Even our useless congressman comes to the rescue. Hahaha....Who was the genius who thought of that? WOW OH WOW!!!Both of you should be embarrassed oh no ashamed. One for giving it and the other for accepting. Now every time I see a flag I will think about it.
His greatest contribution is I was a coach. Tino you are one of millions and probably average at best. You all know Susan is the best choice so you give Tino a fake award to try and get him publicity and votes. How truly sad our congressman does not have ethics and professionalism to see this is so inappropriate. To think of all the men and women that sacrificed their lives for our country. Thank you for letting us know. I was present at the candidates forum in the public library. I was voting for Villarreal but after I heard him speak, I ended up voting for Ruvalcaba. I am not even a Republican. Jessica said, in that forum, if you cut me I bleed blue I am a Democrat; Ruvalcaba never said she was a Republican but her ideas lean towards Republican values (she did say that), BUT Some of her ideas make SENSE!!! so I will vote, once again for Ruvalcaba. I didn't see any proposals from Villarreal.
