I was a Marine in Vietnam (Jan 69-Aug 70) the guys in Charlie Co. can hardly be faulted for their actions. By early '70 it was obvious there was something very wrong with the way the U.S. was prosecuting a war that could have been avoided in the 1st place.

In memory of one of the 58,000 names on the Vietnam Memorial, Walter Nemecio Ramirez, USMC, KIA Sept. 18, 1965, Quang Nam Province, RVN. A good man who died way too young as so many of them did. And also to the thousands of MIA/POW who were left behind and whose existence your government has been publicly denying since 1973: You Are Not Forgotten.

The VFW is slowly going from a Canteen to a 14th Street Cantina. What's next ficheras. They don't Carter to winter texans or play any music that reflect VFW tradition. Their DJ plays conjunto music the majority of the time. As Bob Dylan sang " For the times they are achangin’"

Why shouldn't they play conjunct? We are in Brownsville. BTW I don't listen to Spanish music but I don't judge those that do.

Only means one thing. They are moving up in class. All those 14st cantinas were at one time owned by elected officials and some are still owned by some of them this is a FACT ask around... beito and others, the county judge at that time and some well known persons...
