ROLLY, BROWNTOWN'S TRUE FLOWER CHILD, CHECKS OUT

My uncle Rolly passed away early Saturday morning surrounded by family and lots of love. He was the coolest hippie in town.

He was my Momma's baby brother. On Sunday I attended a loteria fundraiser for Sunshine Haven (a comfort home for those on hospice where I sit on the board of directors). It took place at Proyecto Juan Diego and my sis Flora and Mom were with me.

I wanted to dress festive for the event but also honor my uncle's hippie vibe and it all came together so colorful and bright with my new poncho, heart necklace, flower and peace signs, glasses and flower and peace sign accessories. (My uncle loved peace signs as do my cousin Jessie and I).

Uncle Rolly was just a chill dude who was a friend to all. He was described by friends and family as SOLID, REAL, COOL, CARING and he didn't put up with BS. 

As my little sister mentioned in an earlier post, his life was a labor of love as he was always there for my grandparents and assumed care of our special needs Aunt Birdie when Welita and Grandpo passed away. Uncle Rolly was an adamant pet lover, too. We truly were so blessed with him in our lives.

Uncle Rolly, I think I have a have a hippie soul and hope to look at life as you did and always make the best of it. I hope to always have a big heart like yours and be kind and loving and strong. I know you have found the true peace you believed in heaven. BTW, I ended up winning the $300 Grand Prize on the last game. The hippie vibe was growing strong!
