LEGE STILL TRYING TO HAND CONTROL OF BOCA CHICA BEACH TO SPACEX

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

The SpaceX beach fight might not be over.

Despite the fact that proposed legislation that would have given SpaceX control over closures of Boca Chica Beach and S.B. 2881 died in the Texas Legislature, that legislation has been resubmitted

State Senator Adam Hinojosa's SB 2881 just went to the Trade Workforce and Economic Development Committee where observers feel it might get enacted.

The development follows weeks of strident opposition by groups such as the Surfrider Foundation and Texas Sierra Club, joined by the city of Port Isabel, which passed a resolution opposing Hinojosa's (R-Corpus Christi) S.B. 2881 and H.B. 4660 from Rep. Janie Lopez (R-San Benito), which seek to  effectively remove Cameron County’s authority over beach and road closures on weekdays through noon on Fridays.

Authority over closures after noon on Fridays and during weekends would have remained with the county.

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. was vocal in opposing the legislation, which he said in an April 4 letter to the House State Affairs Committee “does not serve the public interest and has received an overwhelmingly negative response from our local community.

“Through experience, Cameron County has shown the proper discretion and authority with respect to SpaceX, and any beach or road closures for spaceflight activities,” he wrote. “These have been coordinated satisfactorily through the mutual collaboration of both parties and continue without this bill.”

Opponents to the bills announced that "It seems just like yesterday that we were celebrating the end of the SpaceX/Starbase Boca Chica Beach closure bills (HB4660 and SB2188).

"Well, it was yesterday. As of late last night, a member of the Texas House State Affairs Committee, who was not present for the original vote, Rep. John Smithee, has plans to call for a revote on passing SB2188 to the House floor as soon as tomorrow (today).

"We are asking callers to once again call the committee members to express their opposition to SB2188 and HB4660.

"Below is a list of all the members that voted to advance the bill. Please take a few moments today when you have time to voice your opposition to the complete handing over of Hwy 4 and Boca Chica Beach access to Starbase.

Rep. Drew Darby- 5124630331
Rep. Charlie Green- 5124630610
Rep. Ryan Guillen- 5124630416
Rep. Lacey Hull- 5124630727
Rep. John McQueeny- 5124630608
Rep. Will Metcalf- 5124630726
Rep. Richard Raymond- 5124630558
Rep. John Smithee- 5124630702 (Calling for re-vote)

Why do you keep saying Eddie Treviño opposed it Juan? Eddie only opposed it when he saw all the Cameron County Groups oppose it. Eddie pulled out his favorite trick of keeping silent and see if there is any opposition, then react. When the County was raising tax rates it happened when Eddie was running for re-election. All other county commissioners voted in favor of raising rates and our little County Judge was the only no vote because he knew it was passing anyway. Do not try to pull a fast one on the voters Juan.

The higher heels and seamed stockings did it for a lot of you, but her open leg shot sent others into a frenzy of admiring and naughty comments. I hope you like the rear view of Lisa on all fours, in this submission and that tight little pussy just pouting and needing a gentle lick, followed by a probing finger?

Baca Chica should be made into something like a National Park. I know mine is a shot in the dark but seriously Boca Chica is a National treasure. If it weren't Elon wouldn't want it.
