To the members of the American Vietnam Veteran (AVV) Chapter 1 of Brownsville and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars the fact that Cesar Rendon walks around in green battle fatigues was often amusing since everyone knows he did not serve in the military, the Marines, and much less in combat.
But when people started posting photos showing him awarding medals to various local people as a "Special Marine," that crossed the line. And he's still at it because he was one of the flag carriers – decked out in combat fatigues brimming with medals – at Tiny Barrientes' Silent March this past May 26 during Memorial Day."He isn't authorized to hand out medals," said Vietnam Veterans chapter commander Salvador Salinas in the past when the fact first came to light. "Especially since he didn't serve. I notice in the photos that he is still wearing corporal stripes."
When Salinas and his comrades saw Rendon handing local seafood magnate Robert "Capt. Bob" Sanchez a Marine medal, it was the last straw.
"I have instructed our XO (executive officer) to call a special meeting to discuss this matter," he said. "I don't want one misguided person to put us in a bad light."
Sanchez, by the way, did not serve in the military, and doesn't claim he did. And there's no telling how many such medals Rendon has awarded other people. In fact, he wears a chest full of medals when he puts on his late brother's fatigues – a real veteran – to attend veterans events.
Other readers have sent El Rrun-Rrun photos of Rendon when he "volunteered" for the chapter's funeral detail and wonder why Rendon was allowed to perform that sacred duty. Here he is decked out in a VFW funeral detail uniform wearing a Marine Corps tie clip. (Out of respect for the soldiers and their families we will not publish them here.)In Rendon's case it was his brother Blas, who actually served in the military. Shorty Rendon born in 1964 and the Vietnam War ended in 1975 when he was 11 years old.
Unfortunately, cases of such "stolen honor" are not unusual. Most involve individuals pretending that they served in combat and wear medals, including the Purple Heart, indicating that they were wounded in battle.
In Rendon's case it was his brother Blas, who actually served in the U.S. military. Shorty Rendon born in 1964 and the Vietnam War ended in 1975 when he was 11 years old.
However, Salinas and his crew said they would deal with the issue directly and put a stop to it once and for all. Rendon was one of those fake VFW members who was "recruited" by the late VFW commander Luis Lucio, who himself wore a fake Purple Heart until he was called on it by real combat veterans of the VFW.
Lucio was a cook during his service, but claimed at different times to have been a Marine drill instructor and/or infantry officer. He consistently earned performance certificates for his VFW-member recruiting of non-combat veterans like Shorty. (When this was published in this blog, the publisher was banned from the VFW by Louie's goons.)
"We'll correct it," AVV's Salinas said of Rendon. And he did.
Barrientes, unfortunately, has allowed this charade to take over and actually lead the annual Silent March parade. After El Rrun-Rrun first posted this article, a reader sent the blog a copy of the Texas Penal Code dealing with claiming a fraudulent or fictitious military record and decorations (VTCA Penal Code 32.54). A person commits an offense (Class B misdemeanor) is he or she uses or claims a military record
* knowing it's fraudulent,
* is fictitious and has not been granted or assigned to the person,
* or uses it to gain some benefit (like free meals at Texas Roadhouse of Golden Corral on Veterans Day), service, state job or donation.
Given the proof of Sanchez's Facebook posts, "Special Marine" Rendon might want to think things through if he continues "awarding" Marine Corps medals or leading military veterans parades to honor the real fallen soldiers.

Well, where are the real Marines??? Una pataleada en puro covert. . . .
“Stolen valour” continues to crop up. How disappointed. This understandably is very upsetting for both the real “Warriors” that served, and the families left behind.
Folks - it is not just non-military personnel who make false claims. Some true veterans have also been found exaggerating the truth of their duty. Visit your local Veterans Office or the VA Health Clinic and you can witness those seeking PTSD treatment having exaggerated their combat involvement. How many veterans claiming 100% VA rating with PTSD, yet NEVER served a day in combat or deployed to a hostile territory. These folks damage their reputation and credibility resulting in an insidious effect on the way the public views our former military personnel. We call them PX commandos with Bronz stars. Getting your weekly butt kicked by your spouse is a "whoop-ass" not PTSD.
A veteran status is not something automatically granted, but rather something earned through proper service – not one that can be bought or made up.
Military imposters: If it's just too good to be true - check it out! Report the MOFO!
Tiny Barrientes (a former Marine) you Sir, should know better. Probably a MAGA "wannabe." with bone spurs as well.
Brownsville Online says it got 16 million views in the last 28 days, Juan....
I don't condone this behavior Juan, but just as a matter of reference, you're not much of an "honorable" representative of the armed forces either with a history of incarceration and a legacy of drunkenness. Semper Fi is not something you can say with honor.
God Bless Him.
Lay off the little Chihuahua.
Likes being a military supporter.
So what!
Wears the military shirt.
So what!
Tiny inconvenience.
Leave him alone.
He's harmless.
Every town has their cast of characters.
Remember Bobby Loco!
How about the paper boy Felipe!
They're the little people.
Some German Shepards like to bark at them.
Just ignore them.
Or better yet buy them a taco.
We — not just Democrats who are running for office, but the DNC — should learn from NY mayoral candidate Mamdani’s campaign. Don’t just talk about what we stand for, act on what we stand for.
Tragedia en Costco Monterrey: mujer muere por atragantarse con hot dog
Una mujer de la tercera edad murió en una sucursal de Costco en San Pedro Garza García tras atragantarse con comida.
Not a laughing matter. Many of my fellow soldiers gave the ultimate sacrifice and I will not stand for their memory to be chastised..
"Lo a culpa no la tiene el Indio. Si no, el que lo hace compadre."
Now, who TF is letting this fool run around town leading military parades and handing out medals? Why are real veterans even following this charlatan during a parade?
No pos gow!
Ah yes, Corporal Cosplay rides again — storming Memorial Day with more medals than Patton, like he parachuted into Brownsville from a garage sale in Hanoi, dragging a duffel bag full of delusion and unresolved ego conflict.
This is what happens when the collective superego flatlines and the only prerequisite for valor is a working zipper and access to an Army surplus bin. One minute you’re resurrecting your dead brother’s camo, the next you’re pinning a counterfeit commendation on Captain Bob, seafood baron and occasional chaos vector.
Is this stolen valor, or just a full-blown case of symbolic compensation — a man unconsciously reenacting his own inadequacies on the public stage, hoping a chestful of medals will silence that little voice in his head whispering: you didn’t earn this, and they know it?
He marches down Elizabeth Street like a fever dream of masculinity gone rancid, while real veterans stand off to the side, clenching their jaws like Greek statues watching a low-budget parade through Plato’s cave.
Let him keep the costume — but only if he agrees to lead the next march barefoot, in August, under full sun, while the ghosts of real soldiers hand out push-ups and side-eye from the shade.
Because if you want the glory, you can damn well earn the sweat.
Were you born out of your mother’s asshole? It seems like it.

Check this out, isn't Tiny B. married to Cesar sister? Cesar was never in the army, he has only served in Jail for rattero ladron. Please get rid of him and let men or women who have served in the military volunteer instead.

mental health is real
There is a lot of bickering and evil in the Veterans organizations and among Veterans. Too much pain and suffering and hard to do good things for all veterans. Stay calm and move along but not alone.
You stated the most important fact, "with a history." Which means the past. Was Mr. Montoya dishonorably discharged? Then wtf is the problem with you?
Mr. Montoya has lived and is living a productive life. As far as his drinking goes he is not asking you or anyone else for money in order to do it. So fuck off.
This POS is being disrespectful to those who have paid the ultimate price for serving their country. Let it go. . . Na that would be wrong.
Fry the Chihuahua's ass.
Anyone interested can get a signature of this imposter for a beer at Southwinds. What a loser.
Nobody cares about a fake marine except the fake marine. The guy looks retarded.
😂 So now it is a person with mental health issues leading the parade. Hilarious 😂 Never served and is one sandwich short of a picnic 😀
Yes, PTSD is a serious mental issue. Just ask all those veterans who NEVER served in combat or hostile territory. They too exaggerated and have no shame. 100% disabled, yea! Mr. Rendon probably thinks he served with the Rough Riders, liberating the battle of Chapultepec Mexico. Dejalo.. play Gi Joe for a day or two as long as he is not awarding Army combat medals. Lay off the little Chihuahua.. no muerde.
Folks. Lot of discussion of some "non-military personnel" helping, helping carry our American "COLORS" during a parade. Were there any actual "Veteran Volunteers" jumping to carry our colors? How many actual veterans participate during any of our Bville outreach programs or Veteran events? So stop your whining, and insults if you have not lend a hand. Let those who never served a day, whine, complain and throw insults. .. Clueless! Straighten your military cover (crown) and do something about it.
