U.S. Border Patrol Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Gloria Chavez has been fired, Ali Bradley, a NewsNation affiliate of Valley Central reported.

Valley Central has reached out to CBP to learn why Chavez was fired. However, we have yet to hear back.

Sources say special agents with the CBP Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) escorted Chavez out of a sector building.

BorderReport’s Sandra Sanchez confirmed with Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez that “There was a recent change in command.”

Valley Central has reached out to CBP to learn why Chavez was fired. However, we have yet to hear back.

For months, news sources have reported that she was under investigation – without BP confirmation – that she and her underling Jason Owens had been under investigation for accepting trips to Mexico and lining up sponsors for a specialty Don Julio's Tequila issue for the Border Patrol's 100-year-gala event here.

There is no indication whether this was ultimately related to her firing. The tequila was never used.

Chavez is a Brownsville native and has held multiple executive leadership positions during her 30 year tenure with the patrol. She was a Porter High School graduate.

Chavez started her career in the patrol in 1995 and in 2010 she assumed command of the Border Patrol’s Spokane Sector in Spokane, Washington, on the U.S./Canada border.

In 2015, she accepted the position of deputy chief for operations under the Law Enforcement Operations Directorate at U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

In 2016 and 2017, she served as the commander for the CBP Migration Crisis Team where she monitored and addressed the day-to-day operational requirements and challenges for the CBP enterprise. In recognition of her efforts, she was presented with the 2017 DHS Secretary Silver Medal Award.

In 2018, she became chief patrol agent of the El Centro Sector in Imperial, California, along the U.S./Mexico border.

(This is a developing story. We will update as necessary.)

This is a bu anch of malarkey. Every year, the government makes you declare all possible activities that can be considered conflict of interest. So you write down everything. Then superiors question everything and they want proof. You accepted twenty dollars. They want to know why ? who? Then you go into your records and find out it was ten dollars.

These are fake allegations done by her enemies. Here is a Latina that has prepared herself and is CHIEF of the SECTOR in the RGV and now she is a target. Mayorkas was fired (2021-2025). Kristi Noem took his place. Think and think, what is going on here?
Mayorkas a Cuban. Gloria Chavez a poor lady from Southmost.

You can't give a Mexican power because it'll always go to their head.

Somebody finally figured out Porter sucks.

The reason is she was not meeting her deportation quotas. They needed to change to an outsider, not some local woman from Brownsville. Everybody constantly calling her to release from custody their Tio, Prima or house cleaner. The party is over Raza, they are now coming for you!

Warning for teachers. New school year begins check your retirement paperwork, years for retirement, and your bills and credit card balances and your mortgage and act accordingly. A student has a cellular phone? Send to principal. A student treats you bad? ask for a sick day the following day. A parent is rude to you? Send to principal and take a personal day off.

You suck! None of the schools in Brownsville suck. It is the combined effort of all schools that make our city a good community.

YOU suck.

Mayorkas kept lying about the border being secure. He's a Biden puppet. Just another loser. Send him back to Cuba.

3:11 Maybe Trump will give her a job. With that face she doesn't have to worry about being grabbed.

Brownsville schools would perform at a higher level if those kids that go to school not to learn but to be disruptive were expelled. Schools have pretty much just become huge daycare centers with a cafeteria. We can only blame federal polices paying school districts for a child's attendance not their performance.
