What an embarrassment to have a PR person in charge of Engineering/Public Works Dept. She should be transferred to the city's marketing department. To be an engineer takes much more than a non-engineering degree. Aside from also taking the state engineering exam to be licensed

Well said 11:17 - already at $183k+ with move to city hall on the horizon. CM needs to do an overhaul and have everyone reapply for jobs based on merit. It's been done elsewhere, and needed here. Why do you report that she is a "PR person"? She has worked for engineering firms in the past. She has a degree in environmental science. She has done environmental consulting for years before an LNG company hired her to represent their interests in Brownsville, or PR, as you call it. Was she the best qualified candidate? Maybe not. Is she overpaid? Possibly. But why exaggerate and make her look like someone who should be reading teleprompter on the local news station? She has a technical background, and the Public Works Department is doing a pretty good job for the most part. It is doing much better than it was before COVID. Be positive for once!
