Jose Andres Barrientos was arrested August 20 and booked into the Brownsville Police Dept. jail on Jackson Street and charged with Theft, a Class A misdemeanor. The owner of the bar, who gave the police the name of the suspect, the surveillance videos, and the receipt showing he paid $1,000 for the mixer had grown exasperated.How could it be that they could not find the alleged thief, Barrientos, AKA "Jandres," a DJ. who has an Instagram account that receives hundreds of hits and lets his followers know where he is performing?, he asked.
Not long ago, the top honchos in the department said that had a lead on his whereabouts and told media reps an arrest was imminent. Now, apparently, they arrest of suspect indicates they carried forth on their assertions that action would be forthcoming.
Let's hope the victim is granted some justice when the case makes its way though the courts.

Theft is a class A misdemeanor in Texas if the value of the property or services stolen is $500 or more but less than $1,500. ... The punishment for a class A misdemeanor in Texas is a sentence of confinement in jail for a term of no more than one year, a fine of not more than $4,000, or both.

That guy is a nothing but a rat.. but do to the incompetence of Brownsville Police Departments Criminal Investigations he continued to rip people off..I went into the Brownsville police Department and spoke to a detective only to be told it was a civil matter..LMAO..maybe it's called laziness!!! Anyway attempted to speak with his a Sgt.Ordenez and quickly realized why there Detectives are Inept and incompetent..0

I had a similar situation, the BPD detectives have no clue as to what they are doing. It is apparent their Sgt. Ordenez is also clueless.
Chief of Police needs to do some revamping, he needs to see what kind of circus he has in investigations.
