TSC LOWERS TUITION BY 20 PERCENT, NIXES PARKING FEES

By Texas Southmost College

As part of Texas Southmost College’s (TSC) ongoing comprehensive CARE initiative, all students enrolled in the fall 2020 semester will receive an automatic 20 percent tuition reduction scholarship. College officials said that during these uncertain times, students can be certain their TSC family is here to support them.

“The Scorpion family continues to be relentless in making higher education affordable for our community,” said TSC President Dr. Jesús Roberto Rodríguez. “The TSC Board of Trustees and leaders across campus unequivocally agreed our number one priority when budgeting for the fall semester should be providing direct support for students.”

The scholarship, which will be applied automatically, benefits all students, whether they reside in-district or out of district. Although the scholarship does not apply to fees, the TSC Board of Trustees also approved waiving 100 percent of student parking fees for the fall semester.

“The TSC Board of Trustees fully supports the tuition reduction scholarship and parking fee waiver,” said TSC Board Chair Adela Garza. “We want students to know they can count on their Scorpion family to help them maintain momentum towards reaching their academic goals.”

Registration for the fall semester continues through August 21, and classes begin August 24. To enroll for the fall semester, contact an Admissions Specialist at admissions@tsc.edu or 956-295-3615.

They should close this taxpayer-funded college. It is nothing more than an Alternative High School!

The tsc tuition is still higher than state junior college tuition rate. Tstc and south Texas college In McAllen are charging a lot less per credit hour.. don’t be fooled by this 20 percent break in tuition . If you do a little research you’ll find out that the fees are higher than the tuition and that’s where the stick it to you. Adela is using it for political gain... the true tuition and fee plan should be published in the Brownsville herald or the tsc website

Yes...yet another Adela stunt leading up to election time. Tuition is the same or in many cases higher than other comparable community colleges after fees...what a joke.
