"I am greatly saddened by the passing of a great and loyal friend, Gabino Vasquez. Gabino served as my late husband’s (Pete Benavides) Administrative Assistant. He supported Pete wholeheartedly and was an integral part of the administration of Cameron County Precinct 1.
Gabino was considered part of the Benavides Family. Upon my taking office, Gabino continued to serve admirably and loyally until his retirement. Pati Matamoros and I have lost a great partner and friend.
Our most sincere condolences to his wife, Rosa, his sons, Gabino Jr., Ricky, George, Gaby, Don, Edgar and Eloy; his daughters Rosemary Aldretelee and Diana Morin. May He Rest In Peace."

A former City Hall reporter for the New York Daily News says she was fired for questioning why a male colleague was earning more for performing the same job.
Anna Sanders, 29, filed a lawsuit on Thursday against the tabloid and its parent company, Tribune Publishing, alleging wrongful termination and gender discrimination. Robert York, the paper's editor-in-chief, is also named in the suit.
Sanders says she learned in April that a newly-hired colleague, Shant Shahrigian, was making $80,000, while she was making $78,000. Prior to Shahrigian's arrival at the paper, Sanders was the outlet's only City Hall reporter.
The problem at the second debate wasn't that Trump's feral personality was on display. The problem was that when you actually got to hear the two candidates answer questions about policy without all the theatrics, it's clearer than ever that even after almost four years in office, Donald Trump still has no idea what he is doing. Even in his subdued state, he played his most obnoxious greatest hits without any awareness that they are stale, stupid and offensive.

This feature was meant to inform us or the passing of a great husband, father, uncle, brother, grandfather, friend and community leader - not to blast anyone else. Gavino was a super neat person with a great sense of humor that he learned from his humble beginnings as he grew up. He was a loyal employee and tired his best to do what was best for others. That is why he will be missed by all of us that knew him for so many years and proud to call him a friend.
Please pay your condolences and not your gripes! Allow him to rest in peace
and for his family to grieve for his loss. His memory will go on.

For the ones who claimed Trump hasn't done very much, take a good look at the so called private prisons. Obama and Biden did NOTHING to free nor protect the victims that were been held like salves. Not very much coverage on the so called private prisons. The majority of the victims were Mexicans or undocumented. So maybe the so called illegals and undocumented should stop eating the free chicken and fajita's plates for voting for Private Prisons. Check the Lucio's, the Vela's, and Hinojosa's they loved private prisons.
The Brownsville Police Department is sinking fast with Chief FeliX Sauceda at the top. Chief Sauceda can not handle or get a grip of his department.
The Chief only sees what he want's to see; and only hears what he wants to hear.
You have failed Chief Sauceda and you make the people you command only show you what you want to see and when you look in the mirror you only see what you want to believe. Chief Sauceda you did not earn your spot and you got the position under the table just like you have your whole career.
Stop pretending to be something your not, the devil comes in many Disguises..
