On November 8, 2022, Cameron County Sheriff's department’s Deputies responded to the Old County Jail in reference to narcotics and contraband found inside a jail cell. 
While conducting a jail cell search, a Jailer noticed at the top of air conditioning unit had been tampered with. Upon further investigation, a plastic bag and a white envelope with a string attached were recovered. Upon searching the bags, a black cell phone, three vape pens, a USB charger and 6 small clear plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance where recovered.
On Thursday, January, 26, 2023, the Cameron County Crime Stoppers received a tip in reference that a jailer, Miguel Limon, that charged he was responsible for smuggling contraband into the Old County Jail Detention Center.
On January 30, 2023, the sheriff's office allege that Limon met with sheriff’s investigators and provided with them with a voluntary statement.
During the interview, they said Limon stated that while conducting jailer duties at old county Jail, he was offered cash to smuggle school supplies and was paid around $200-$300 dollars to do so. Limon further stated, he delivered packages to several inmates and one time one of the packages contained cocaine.
Upon further investigation, Limon consented for the investigators to search his phone. While searching the phone, investigators found several text messages where he would arrange to smuggle contraband and later got paid by a female. Investigators showed Limon the items recovered on November, 8, 2022 and he confessed to smuggling all the items. Limon admitted to receiving more than $2,000 for smuggling contraband.
With the evidence gathered, Investigators were able to secure arrest warrants for Limon. Limon was arrested and charged with two counts of Abuse of Official Capacity, one count of Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility and one count of Contraband in a Correctional Facility.
Limon was transported and booked into Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center. Investigation is ongoing.

Hey Sheriff, by when you going to do something against Charles Hoskins, im his neighbor and i noticed deputies at his house (again). The guy was all cooked up, his wife called 911 for assistance and again nothing was done about it.
