The Houston Chronicle has called out former President Donald Trump for planning his first major 2024 campaign rally in Waco, Texas, on Saturday.

In an editorial on Thursday, the paper suggested the location was not so much a dog-whistle to extremists, but a “blaring air horn of a Mack 18-wheeler.” Waco is inextricably linked to the 1993 Branch Davidian siege, which has sparked yearslong anti-government conspiracy theories.

Trump needs to have his ass kicked.

Caty Presas-Garcia ran for this same district (along with El Perro Ahumada) against incumbent Jessica Tetreau and was routed. The district is not a "Vato y Ruca" district all-in automatically on the Mexican candidate.

I ran against Mr Gonzalez for mayor and he was always very kind, respectful to me. When he was mayor and the meeting were held at second floor of the market square. As mayor, Mr. Gonzalez had an open public forum. If there were 14 people who sign up to speak, Mr. Gonzalez would let them all speak, good news or bad news, Mr Gonzalez didn't denied the public from speaking. After Mr Gonzalez left office, the end of public forum change to keep the public, especially me from bringing issues about the COB to light. Thank you Mr Gonzalez for severing as mayor of Brownsville. Condolences to his family.

He was a grouchy old cus but he would tell you to your face and not go behind your back. He spoke his mind and wanted the best for this city. Rest in Peace Henry.

Why can't brownsville retain and grow leaders like Alejandro Meade Homer Hanna class of 1994?

Do people likedifference? Want to come back to try to make a diffrence?

This mayor let the airport business community die during his reign in the nineties. Bax global, panasonic, delco, emery worldwide and many others left for destinations they deemed better such as harlingen and los indios.

When this mayor was told of the relocations, I’m told he was “surprised” and had no idea. Imagine that as a mayor.

Much of the loss of big business in brownsville was in part thanks to this guy’s ineptness.

Well maybe now they will serve us 12 shrimp at the Oyster Bar and fix up the outdated place a little. OMG the restrooms! Why are the employees there always scared? what are they scared of? They still have the 3 plates to offer to our city. At least Vermillion won't have him running out there with his towel telling them to move the cars out of his parking lot if they're not eating there. He was a character. He was ok.
