ROY DE LOS SANTOS SR., FORMER B'VILLE NAVIGATION DISTRICT COMMISH, I.L.A. LOCAL 2995 LABOR LEADER, DIES

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Word reached us early Monday that Roy De Los Santos Sr., father of city of Brownsville Commissioner Roy De Los Santos Jr., died at his home from a sudden heart event.

Our condolences to all his family.

We met Roy Sr. in the 1970s when  he was the agent of the International Longshoremen Association Local  2995 and battled with the Port of Brownsville stevedores to secure competitive wages for the port workers who went down into the dark holds of ships to load and unload massive cargoes of sugar, bananas, steel, etc...

He was hugely supportive of labor and we remember walking the picket lines with him when the Steelworkers Union was trying to unionize Marathon LeTourneau, now a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine.

He was a good public servant, a good family man and a friend of labor. We were lucky to have traveled a bit of this road with the likes of brother De Los Santos. He will be missed.

There are SEVERAL count them SEVERAL pendejos running for re-elction in CITY positions. There are part of the problem they support bike trails, murals, hiring their family and friends, high salaries to known voting friends, give away city funds to other countries and their citizens AND NOW THEY ARE ASKING FOR YOUR VOTE. DO YOU THINK THEY DESERVE OUR VOTE? POTHOLES GALORE, TRAFFIC LIGHTS DON'T WORK AND ARE RED AT EVERY TRAFFIC LIGHT CORNER, THROW AWAY CITY FUNDS ON MURALS, FLOODING, NO AIRPORT AND IT GOES ON AND ON.
ARE YOU GOING TO VOTE FOR THESE PENDEJOS?

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT RE-ELECT NO ONE, NO ONE, NO ONE EVER AGAIN THEY HAVE PERFORM FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES AND VOTING FRIENDS.

Good points. But we should demand our political leaders to work and propose on big projects. They need our guidance. They do not know what the people need. They have other interests, deals, etc

Flood streets: only people that drive during a storm know the streets that can be used to get home.

BUMPS: only people that know the neighborhood know where the bumps are....they are not painted regularly

Garbage/Trash: Remember when trash was picked up TWICE per week !!!

More communication is needed to inform residents and politicians about what the city needs. Most people are focused on earning a living and not on other things....

Hey, the Mexicans going downtown are there to support the cartel's business associates. Which is our local city government, the cartels run Brownsville. The Brownsville PD enjoys the cartel money, all that tax revenue from a little address with 10 LLC's attached to it. Especially these industrial companies in District 2. Planning and Zoning are doing a great job for the city, residents, and most importantly the CARTELS.

they think $250,000 is peanuts so they want the voting citizens input. Why now? FIX THE POTHOLES, FIX THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS, FIX THE AIRLESS PORT, LOWER ALL EXEGERATED SALARIES.
Citizens write this down on your input if you can get one. I hear they are assigned to special friendly people.

printed on the no customers daily (herald), and purchase one of their number ONE flier for another 20 grand. Its not your money throw it away.
